Textbooks: New Perspectives on HTML and XHTML, Comprehensive by Carey
Diskettes: You'll also need a USB drive to save your work.

Evaluation: You will be evaluated primarily by your test performance. The exams will test your knowledge of the text, class discussions and presentations. In addition, you will have homework assignments with hands-on practice from the tutorials in the text. Finally, you will create web pages and post them on the Internet as WWW Assignments or Web Assignments using HTML.

Grades:

  1. Midterm Exam (Tutorials 1-5) - 30%
  2. Final Exam (Tutorials 6-10) - 30%
  3. Assignments - 20%
  4. Web Assignments using HTML - 20%
Attendance: Students are expected to attend all classes for which they are registered. Students who are unable to attend class regularly, regardless of the reason or circumstance, should withdraw from that class before poor attendance interferes with the student's ability to achieve the objectives required in the course. Withdrawal from classes can affect eligibility for federal financial aid.

Americans with Disabilities: The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 state that qualified students with disabilities who meet the essential function and academic requirements are entitled to reasonable accommodations. It is the student's responsibility to provide appropriate disability documentation to the College.

Make-Up Tests: There will be no "make-up" tests given except for students who encounter unforeseen emergency situations with convincing evidence. In such cases the make-up test must be completed within one week of the scheduled test.
